The Workforce Readiness: Initiative and Self-Direction course provides students with an overview of the principal areas of initiative and self-direction that are crucial for new workers entering today’s competitive, rapidly changing workplace and individuals who want to transition to a new career.
Audience: The target audience for the Workforce Readiness: Initiative and Self-Direction course are individuals who are transitioning into a new career field after 10 or more years in another career, as well as individuals who are new or returning to the workforce.
The Workforce Readiness: Initiative and Self-Direction course will address the following primary course objectives:
- Identify the traits of an individual with strong initiative and self-direction
- Explain tangible and intangible success criteria when setting goals
- Describe types of goals and techniques to reward yourself for goals achieved
- Apply self-direction techniques to advance professional skills
