Health Information Technology
This program will train aspiring healthcare and information technology professionals to be part of the country’s emerging health IT industry. Program includes anatomy and physiology, health terminology, communication, confidentiality, ethical issues, the HITECH Act, system interfaces and integration, backup databases, applications, operating systems, configuring EHRs, workflow analysis, the ISO OSI models, health IT standards, the health information exchange, enterprise architecture models and project management principles, tools and techniques.
Explore the emerging Health Information Technology field and how the acquisition, storage, retrieval and use of health data plays a critical role in enhancing the quality of care, reducing the costs of delivery and addressing population health issues. This program will train aspiring healthcare and information technology students to be part of the country’s emerging health information industry. The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that thousands of qualified health information technology professionals will be needed by 2015.
